The strongbox

Close the books without sending them out.

Month-end has a rhythm: the tie-outs, the accrual that never ties on the first pass, the workpapers that prove it all. WagonWorks works that rhythm inside the Microsoft 365 tenant your firm already runs on — no client figure is copied out to be processed, and nothing becomes training data.

What it does for the ledger.

Accounting & finance

On the frontier, nobody handed the strongbox to a passing rider, no matter how fast the horse. The ledger is the same instrument today it always was: the truest record of what actually happened, and the thing a firm protects hardest because everything else — the audit, the filing, the client's trust — stands on it.

It works the close the way your best senior does. It ties the bank activity to the books and flags the three transactions that don't match instead of making you hunt for them. It drafts the workpaper with the support attached. It remembers that this client books payroll on a different schedule, because it read last month's file — in your own SharePoint, where that file already lives. The checking gets done by doing the checking, not by sampling it.

Every firm closes differently — different software, different clients, different definitions of done — so the reconciliation logic is fitted to yours in working sessions, not downloaded from a template. Two things are not negotiable, whatever the fit: the ledger never trains anyone's model, and it never leaves your tenant to be understood.

The ledger never leaves your tenant

Where this connects.

A strongbox and an archive are built on the same instinct wearing different clothes. A clinic locks a chart away because confidence demands it; a books-and-records firm locks a ledger away because trust demands it — in both cases, the record is worth nothing the moment a stranger can read it. And an insurer's claim file runs on the same logic again: the number only means something if the party who assessed it is the only one who touched it.

Or take in the whole map at the territories.
